Meet Edwardh Ghadiyali Law

We have worked in Criminal Law in Ottawa, Kitchener, Oshawa, Peterborough, Coburg, Lindsay and Toronto and continue to maintain strong relationships in those communities.
We became criminal defence lawyers for a single reason: to dedicate our practice to protecting our clients’ rights. For us, this isn’t a job—it’s our mission.
Experienced in a wide range of criminal charges, we are licensed by the Law Society of Ontario and practice exclusively within the province. We work in the Waterloo region, GTHA, Oshawa and the Central East Region, helping people navigate the justice system during some of the worst moments in their lives. We understand how difficult criminal charges are for our clients and their families. For that reason, we are committed to treating our clients with transparency, sincerity, and compassion.

We have experience with a wide range of cases including but not limited to sexual assault, assault, drug charges, sexual interference, child pornography, fraud and theft, and many others.

Mel Edwardh
Mel is a dedicated criminal defence lawyer with a lifelong passion for justice and the law. With experience in Criminal Law in Ottawa and Toronto, he has built strong relationships in these communities. Licensed by the Law Society of Ontario, Mel practices exclusively within the province, serving clients in the Waterloo region and the GTHA. He is committed to protecting his clients’ rights with transparency, sincerity, and compassion. Mel handles a wide range of cases, including sexual assault, assault, drug charges, fraud, and theft. For him, this work is more than a job—it’s his mission.

Alefia Ghadiyali
Alefia graduated with a Juris Doctorate from the University of Ottawa and was called to the Ontario Bar in 2021. Born in Tanzania, she brings a global perspective, shaped by experiences in India, Toronto, and Dar-es-Salaam.
During her studies, she worked with organizations like FAFIA on the National Inquiry of Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women and Girls and collaborated with the United Nations on housing rights and violence against women. She also helped develop a Muslim Legal Clinic and gained experience at the Crown Attorney’s office and the Court of Appeal. Having completed her articles at Cooper, Sandler, Shime and Bergman, Alefia worked on the “Missing and Missed - the Report of the Independent Civilian Review into Missing Person Investigation” coming out of the Bruce McArthur murders.
Fluent in several languages, Alefia co-founded a dedicated, client-focused law firm with Mel in 2023.
